Report on the Federal Financial Statements 2019
In 2019, both the net funding balance as well as the net result deviated markedly from the budgeted values. However, they were more favourable than forecast and indicated a surplus.
The continuously robust economy had a positive impact on the tax revenue: the Federation generated EUR 92.0 billion in tax revenue (gross), which was higher by some EUR 2.5 billion than budgeted and increased by EUR 3.4 billion compared to 2018.
The lower federal contribution to the pension insurance providers, lower transfers to the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) and lower payments for interest on financial debts improved the net result.
